We are looking for anyone interested in making a 45 minute to an hour presentation at one of our monthly meetings. You do not have to be an expert just willing to share your knowledge with the rest of us.

Anyone that might be interested in speaking on any of the following topics to please contact Rob Berendt or any of the Board members. List of topics:
  1. Subjects that would make screens look like PC Applications versus the 'green' screen look with task bars/push buttons, pop-ups and more.
  2. In depth SQL's - subselects, joins (inner and outer), formatting printouts, imbedded SQL's, stored procedures.
  3. The pros and cons of creating physical and logical files using DDS verses SQL.
  4. Transitioning from DDS defined files to SQL defined tables. This would include the steps involved, best approach, pitfalls of the transition, etc.
  5. Using purely imbedded SQL to update records in a RPG screen maintenance program.

  12. Alternative to Microsoft on the desktop. A discussion of alternative tools like Open Office, MySql, Evolution, Notes/Domino.
  13. Is Linux ready for prime time? A review of alternative Linux distros and how they can be deployed in an iSeries environment.
  14. Server consolidation and VMWare - used to address server farm proliferation.
  15. Thin Client computing and MS Terminal Services / Citrix as a method to centralize MS application deployment and management
